This Cookie Policy explains which cookies are used on afztekstil.com.tr, the website operated by AFZ Tekstil Tarım Ürünleri, Madencilik San. ve Tic. A.Ş. (“AFZ Tekstil”, “we”), for what purpose and for how long, and how you can manage your choices. It forms part of the information we provide under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”) and, for visitors from the European Union, under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).
In brief
- We use only two kinds of cookies: strictly necessary cookies that the site needs to work, and statistics cookies (Google Analytics) that are only set if you give your consent.
- We do not use advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.
- Unless you consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and no measurement data is sent to Google. Continuing to browse without making a choice does not count as consent.
- You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page or in the box above.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. On later visits the website can read them, for example to remember your language. In this policy, “cookies” also covers similar technologies that store or read information in your browser.
1. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are needed for the site to work and to remember your settings (your language and your cookie choice), so they do not require your consent. Insofar as they involve personal data, the legal basis is Art. 5(2)(f) KVKK (legitimate interest) and, for visitors from the EU, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR together with the exemption for cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested (in Germany: Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

2. Statistics cookies (only with your consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which of our pages attract interest, where our visitors come from and how often our contact forms are used. Google Analytics is connected to our site through the Google Site Kit plugin and is only loaded if you select “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you do not consent, the Google Analytics script is not loaded in your browser at all and no measurement data is sent to Google.

Data processed: the pages you visit and when; the website that referred you; browser, operating system, device type, screen resolution and language setting; approximate location derived from your IP address (country and city level); interactions on our site (e.g. submitting the contact form, clicking email and phone links or links to other websites) and the random ID in the cookie. When a form is submitted, only the fact that it was submitted is measured; the name, email address, phone number and message you enter are not sent to Google. Your IP address is transmitted to Google to establish the connection; according to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Recipient and international transfer: The data is transferred to our service provider Google (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, and its affiliates) and processed on Google servers outside Türkiye, including in the USA. The transfer only takes place if you give your explicit consent in the cookie banner. Please note that the level of data protection outside Türkiye, in particular in the USA, may not be equivalent, and that foreign public authorities may be able to access the data under certain conditions. For visitors from the EU: Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Retention: The Google Analytics cookies stay in your browser for up to 2 years from your last visit and are deleted when you withdraw your consent. Measurement data in Google Analytics is deleted by Google at the end of the retention period set in our account (at most 14 months).
Legal basis: your explicit consent under Art. 5(1) KVKK; for visitors from the EU, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, in Germany, also Section 25(1) TDDDG.
3. Other services and links
- Fonts: The fonts on our site are loaded from our own server; no connection is made to Google Fonts or any other font service.
- Google Maps: The map on our contact page is not loaded until you click “Show map”, and until then no data is sent to Google. When you click it, the map is loaded from Google’s servers; connection data such as your IP address is sent to Google (including to the USA) and Google may use its own cookies. Loading the map is based on your explicit request (Art. 5(1) KVKK; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can also use the “Open in Google Maps” link without loading the map.
- Company video: The video on our site is played from our own server; YouTube or similar services are not used.
- Social media and messaging: The Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn icons and the WhatsApp link are plain links. No data is sent to these platforms unless you click them; once you do, the platform’s own privacy and cookie policies apply.
- We do not use advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies (e.g. Facebook Pixel or Google Ads).
4. How to manage your cookie choices
- Cookie banner: On your first visit you can select “Accept” or “Decline” in the banner at the bottom of the page. Both options are equally prominent, and declining does not restrict your use of the site.
- Withdrawing consent: You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page or in the box at the top of this page. When you withdraw your consent, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted from your browser. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
- Browser settings: You can also delete or block cookies in your browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. If you block strictly necessary cookies, your language and cookie choice cannot be remembered and the banner will appear on every visit.
- How long your choice lasts: Your choice is valid for 1 year. After that, or if we change the cookies we use in a way that requires your consent, the banner will be shown to you again.
5. Consent records
To be able to prove your consent where necessary, every choice made in the cookie banner is recorded on our server. A record contains only: the consent ID (the random ID in the cookie), the date and time of the choice, your choice and the categories it covers, the version of the banner text, the language and address of the page, your IP address shortened by setting its last part to zero (e.g. 192.0.2.0) and browser information (type and version of the browser and operating system). Identifying information such as your name or email address is not recorded. Records are kept for 3 years and then deleted automatically; they are used only for this purpose, stored on our server in Türkiye and not transferred abroad. Legal basis: Art. 5(2)(e) KVKK (establishing, exercising or protecting a right) and Art. 5(2)(f) KVKK (legitimate interest); for visitors from the EU, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Your rights
Under Art. 11 KVKK you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, to request information about it; to learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used accordingly; to know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred; to request rectification of incomplete or inaccurate data and erasure or destruction under the conditions of Art. 7 KVKK; to request that these actions be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred; to object to an outcome against you resulting exclusively from automated analysis; and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. If you are in the EU, you also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection under Art. 15–21 GDPR, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

7. Changes to this policy
If we start using a new cookie or service, we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page. If a change requires your consent, the cookie banner will be shown to you again.
